Spotlight on: Dustin Richardson ? @badreceptionvss
“Hello everyone, my name is Dustin Richardson and I have had Visual Snow for practically all of my life. It started when I was around 3 years old. Visual Snow confused and terrified me for many years growing up. I was never able to describe it well enough for anyone to understand, and as a small child, merely nicknamed it, “Scary Stuff.” As I grew older and began to no longer fear it, I eventually stopped talking about it. However, I would find myself running little tests before going to sleep, trying to find some understanding in it. It was not until many years later that I finally found out that, “Scary Stuff” was actually called Visual Snow. ??? I cannot even begin to describe the overwhelming feeling that struck me once I discovered evidence that what I was experiencing actually existed for other people. It was amazing to see I was a part of something bigger than I ever would have imagined and would like to thank the Visual Snow Initiative for giving me the chance to learn so much about it. It has been just a little over a year since I learned of Visual Snow’s true name and ever since then, I have been learning more and more about it and its symptoms and spreading awareness where I can, such as in college.
I am also the creator of the Visual Snow YouTube Channel called Bad Reception! This channel is all about Visual Snow. As a filmmaker, I really wanted to use my knowledge of film making and editing to further add awareness. On this channel I provide vlogs and helpful video representations on Visual Snow and its symptoms, sharing personal stories, facts and tips with an artistic attitude. I’d love to chat and share with you my videos! Please subscribe to Bad Reception and follow me on Twitter! Here are the links!
