“Hello VSS Community!

My name is Nitin Goyal and I live in Vancouver, Canada. How lucky are we to get this platform to learn and share our experiences regarding Visual Snow. I want to share my little story which might help bring your spirit up. For me, it started a year ago with Tinnitus, then floaters, followed by other visual symptoms like the static and starbursts. Floaters are the biggest one for me. I believe for me they came on because of a combo of poor lifestyle, stress (anxiety), and too much screen time during the pandemic.

However, whatever the cause, one year after seeing a whole host of doctors from all fields and trying a lot of different supplements I think the biggest difference came from a mindset shift. From being frustrated and down right depressed to being grateful and believing that everything will be alright in time. If we learn to accept rather than fight what we are dealing with, life starts to flow again. A mindset shit from ‘why me?!’ to ‘try me!’ is key.

“The Fates guide the person who accepts them and hinder the person who resists them.”

I still see floaters and experience other annoying symptoms, they have reduced somewhat but they are very much there and I have to deal with them everyday. However, I feel like now they have no effect on the quality of my life. In a way I am grateful that I had to go through this struggle because it made me a much healthier person and more importantly it taught me to be kind to myself because I have always been someone who is very hard on himself.

Let hope and belief wash over you. I wish for strength and courage for all of us in this struggle together.”
